In the field of environmental engineering, the Maunsell AECOM group operates as Metcalf & Eddy Ltd.

For almost 100 years Metcalf & Eddy has set the standards for environmental services and technologies, leading the industry in water, wastewater, hazardous waste, air quality, and solid waste management. Among the first U.S. environmental firms to enter international markets over 50 years ago, with projects in 90 countries and on all 7 continents, Metcalf & Eddy is still an innovator. The company augments traditional engineering services with expertise in institutional support, training, build/own/operate/transfer, and design/build. Metcalf & Eddy Ltd has been formed as a regional hub to provide infrastructure engineering and environmental services throughout Asia, and Australia.

The Metcalf & Eddy textbook (Wastewater Engineering: Treatment, Disposal and Reuse; Wastewater Engineering: Collection and Pumping of Wastewater) has long been provided industry standards and is used by infrastructure utilities and universities worldwide. From initial collection to final disposal, M&E provides technologies and solutions appropriate to each client’s needs. M&E released the 4th Edition of Wastewater Engineering in April 2002 that focused on the most advanced technologies being applied. The Chinese version of the book is under translation.

Asia Regional Headquarters

Metcalf & Eddy Ltd works in close association with Maunsell throughout Asia. Our Asia Regional headquarters are located in Hong Kong, China. The firm is represented by affiliate offices in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The resources of Metcalf & Eddy Ltd in Hong Kong comprise all the staff from the former Environmental Engineering Group of Maunsell (Hong Kong) since 2002, inheriting the full project experience of Hong Kong.
