Provision of Sewerage to Unsewered Areas/Villages in Northwest New Territories - Feasibility Study, Hong Kong

Metcalf & Eddy has been appointed by Drainage Services Department to evaluate the hydraulic performance of the proposed secondary clarifiers at Tai Po and Shek Wu Hui Sewage Treatment Works. The existing clarifiers at both Works have experienced under-capacity problems. New clarifier designs have been carried out by Drainage Services Department. With the assistance from specialist sub-consultant Hydrosims from the US, Metcalf & Eddy will use 3-dimensional computational fluid dynamic numerical modelling technique to check and refine the proposed designs. The models will be validated using field measurements. Alternatives and modifications will then be proposed to ensure that the recommendations are feasible and cost-effective.

Project Director is Bevis Mak, with Alex Kwan as Project Manager. Robert Chan and Echo Leong will be responsible for the field sampling..
