Traffic Improvements to Tuen Mun Road Town Centre Section

Further to the recent award of the Tuen Mun Road Reconstruction and Improvements D&C consultancy, Maunsell AECOM (MCAL) was again selected by Highways Department for the Feasibility Study of Traffic Improvements to Tuen Mun Road Town Centre Section.

The concept of traffic improvements to Tuen Mun Road Town Centre Section was one of the recommendations put forward in our previous investigation study for “Tuen Mun Road Further Study”. It aims at providing medium term measures to enhance the handling capacity of Tuen Mun Road Town Centre Section to cope with the anticipated increase in traffic flows arising from the opening of Hong Kong- Shenzhen Western Corridor. The Study will investigate the feasibility of the provision of an additional interchange connecting Tuen Mun Road and Castle Peak Road near Sam Shing Estate. The Study will also identify and evaluate the various possible alternative proposals.

This Study will be managed under the direction of Eric Ma with Jack Li as the Project Manager. MEMCL and MGSL will provide input on environmental and geotechnical aspects.
